The essence of the project is to turn the existing Council network into a single WiFi hotspot with no services being hosted locally serving only to provide onward access to the internet which will be accessible to anyone including staff, guests and members of the general public. Staff will connect to applications, systems and services in a SaaS, PaaS, IaaS based fashion, as the Council’s data centre will be separated from the internal network and presented instead as a cloud-like service.

We have employed Agile principles in our delivery of this project and we are excited about an agile approach to delivering a new network service. This means that we are engaging with our users to understand their network needs and we will be developing our new designs based around the insights we gain from a various user groups through this discovery and proof of concept phase.
We are 4 sprints into our discovery phase and have estimated that we require 2 more sprints to fully cover the scope of our discovery.
