This project is about delivering a cloud based data storage capability for the council, which will provide a unified mechanism to systematically store structured data from a system database, semi-structured data (CSV, logs, XML), unstructured data ( emails, documents, PDFs) and binary data (images, audio, video) allowing for its processing and making it available for reporting and analysis. The Project will initially be a pilot over a one-year period to prove the technology works and delivers all the benefits which are foreseen from the councils building a Data Lake.
We are working in partnership with AWS to see how this proof of concept can add value to the organisation before looking to expand further.
