Self-service digital permits developed to enable users to apply and dispose of household waste at the tips using an owned/hired van/pick up/trailer.
Users can now apply and be provided with digital permits instantly.
Users can log into the system to check their remaining visits, edit their details and renew their permits annually.
Automated checks have been built into the system to prevent and identify potential fraud/misuse of the permits.
The service can access reports on usage to provide management information.
Previously permits were posted embossed paper which took up to 5 working days to arrive- manual and expensive to process.
Identified improvements following launch for second phase development- including using QR codes to register visits.
