The Crime Scanner application uses reported crimes published by the Home Office on data.police.uk and digital vector boundaries available on the Office for National Statistics' Open Geography Portal under the Open Government Licence v3.0 to visualise crimes and incidents of anti-social behaviour (ASB) at Local Authority, Electoral Ward and Lower-layer Super Output Area Level. Further information about the application can be found in this blog post and the code in this GitHub repository.
