Aim: To build a central depository of Council-wide Job Descriptions (JDs) and Job Evaluations (JEs).

Key Problems: Job Description is one of the most important employee-document which underpins management expectation from an employee and forms the basis for employee appraisal and development. Similarly, Job Evaluation helps HR Business Partners to objectively make decisions around the job 'worth' and to set remuneration. 

It's difficult to manage Job Descriptions and linked Job Evaluations in a constantly changing environment for a huge workforce. Often, different versions of Job Descriptions for the same role 'appear' which causes duplication and dissatisfaction within the teams. Also, without a central storage solution, access to these documents can be inconsistent.

Methodology: Using Agile methodology, this project will:

  • understand the issues related to storage of Job Descriptions and Job Evaluations,
  • explore the options on offer to resolve the issues mentioned above and
  • build a depository where the documents are stored in a consistent manner and easily accessible.
