It provides an easily accessible tool for Virtual Schools to manage their caseload supporting Virtual Schools to focus their interventions by analysis of need. It also reduces the time spent preparing datasheets and provides detailed analysis at a click of a button.

It supports the statutory and management reporting responsibilities for looked after children. It enables the Virtual School to meet the statutory responsibilities placed upon it by Central Government to ensure that vulnerable children, namely Children Looked After receive appropriate intervention to enable them to realise their potential in education, training and employment (EET).

The system is designed to interface/link with most central Social Care databases and overnight receives a daily feed of relevant data. The application has successfully linked to different Social Care Databases such as Carefirst, Azeus, Mosaic, Liquid Logic and Framework I to date.

LA Live has been in use by Newham’s Virtual School for almost 10 years as the application was developed and tested in the heat of Operational delivery. The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has been using the Application for almost 1 year.

Whether it is Advisory Teachers wanting to know which young people came into care the previous day or identify specialist schools in a particular area of the country or a Manager wanting to know how many schools have received their Pupil Premium or PEP completion, the information is ready through a straightforward menus.

The application supports a systemic and integrated approach by professionals working with the vulnerable child and in the case of CLA Live New Day, their family. For example, CLA Live Reports are assisting the close working partnership between NVS ETE Officers and the Leaving Care team as we sharpen our offer to over 18s and prepare for Ofsted.
