Wycombe District Council are seeking interested Local Authorities to be partners on our Local Digital Fund application to explore the measurement of the value (the financial and non-market value) created by the planning system.
The purpose of planning is to ensure that the right development happens in the right place at the right time, benefitting communities, the economy and the environment. The benefits and value created through the planning process are critical to the UK’s growth, yet they are rarely measured. Without a monetised view of planning value, related decision making is far less informed than it could be, leading to missed opportunities on a case, policy and authority level.
Several stakeholders stand to gain from the systematic measurement of planning value and non-market value (NMV) in particular:
This is a discovery project which looks to create a tool for the systematic measurement of planning value to better inform decision making at the case, policy, and authority level. We have already secured partnership with professional and academic institutions for this project, however we are seeking Local Authority partners for this exciting opportunity.
If you would like to be a partner on our application, please contact me by 5pm on Friday 13 September 2019.
