This project is looking at ways to channel shift citizens to on-line services in order to reduce face to face and telephone demand and provide a better overall customer experience.

Scope - Council Tax

What are we focussing on?

  1. Delivering more online forms to enable citizens to self serve: Student form (partially integrated/ auto indexed into back office workflow) - delivered Sept 14 Landlord/Empty property form - Dec 14 Disabled band reduction - Dec 14 Deceased - Dec 14

  2. Improved web content for :

    • discounts and exemptions - delivered
    • having problems paying your council tax - Dec 14
  3. Review and simplify council tax annual/ad hoc bills and reminder/final notice letters - Feb 15

  4. Design new visual council tax recovery leaflet - aims to encourage early engagement from citizens struggling to pay by outlining the recovery process/ what happens if you dont pay without using lots of detailed text and provides information on what we can do to help

  5. Implement on-line Direct debit
